v2.0 — open source

YouTube, the way
it used to be.

A Chrome extension that strips YouTube's engagement machinery and makes Shorts behave like normal videos. No accounts. No data collection. Fully local.

Add to Chrome View Source
What it does

Five toggles. Zero noise.

Shorts → Videos

Rewrites every Short to play in the normal horizontal player. The dedicated Shorts shelf in search is removed. Channel Shorts tabs stay accessible.

Clean Home Feed

The recommendation grid is gone. YouTube.com redirects straight to your Subscriptions feed — the content you actually chose.

Hide Sidebar

Removes the related videos panel on the watch page and expands the player to fill the space. Watch what you came for.

Hide End Screen

Kills the suggested video overlays that auto-appear at the end of every video. Finish watching without being pulled elsewhere.

Redirect Home

Hitting youtube.com sends you to /feed/subscriptions. The Home and Shorts entries are removed from the sidebar nav.

Popup Toggles

Every feature is toggleable from the extension popup. Settings persist across sessions via chrome.storage.sync. One click to pause everything.

Installation

Up and running in 30 seconds.

You'll land on your Subscriptions feed. The home grid, Shorts shelf, and sidebar are already gone.
